This notice announces the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract to ROCHE Diagnostics Corp. for specialized histology reagents used in the ROCHE Ventana Benchmark Special Stains System at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. - Sole source procurement to ROCHE Diagnostics Corp. for histology reagents and staining kits - Products are specifically for use with the ROCHE Ventana Benchmark Special Stains System - Includes a range of ROCHE staining kits and solutions, such as ALCIAN BLUE FOR PAS, DIASTASE KIT, IRON STAINING KIT, PAS STAINING KIT, and others - Each product has defined minimum and maximum annual quantities, with some items up to 20 units per year - All items are identified by ROCHE part numbers and are required for specialized laboratory staining procedures - Contract is firm fixed-price and will be executed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NAICS Code 325413) - No competitive proposals will be accepted; only ROCHE products are specified - Place of performance is the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania - Contracting offices involved include Network Contract Office 4 (Pittsburgh, PA) and Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center (Wilkes-Barre, PA)

Description

The Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 04 Office intends to negotiate a sole source in accordance with RFO 12.102(a) under the authority of RFO 12.201-1, Simplified Procedures, supplying Lebanon VA Medical Center s need for histology reagents for their ROCHE Ventana Benchmark Special Stains System as supplied by ROCHE Diagnostics Corp., located at 9115 HAGUE RD, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46256 USA. The sole source justification for this action will be posted with the Notice of Award. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used, and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed-price open market order. The NAICS Code is 325413. This special notice serves as notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals and is not a solicitation or a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
