The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking information from qualified vendors for a comprehensive signage improvement project across the US Capitol campus in Washington, DC. - Government Buyer: - Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Acquisition & Material Management Division, and Office of the Chief Engineer - Scope of Work: - Design, fabrication, and installation of nine types of signage at approximately 240 locations throughout the Capitol campus - Four task orders: - Design services for Senate jurisdiction signage - Preparation of messaging schedules for each sign type and location - Preparation of shop drawings and specifications (including messaging, mounting, dimensions, materials, color, and finishes) - Fabrication and installation of all signage - Unified aesthetic and clear hierarchy of information required for all signs - Emphasis on consolidating entrances, highlighting security and prohibited items, and improving visitor guidance for over 3 million annual visitors - A full-time Program Manager is required to oversee contract activities and reporting - Products/Services Requested: - No specific OEMs, vendors, part numbers, or product quantities are specified - Services include design development, messaging, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation - Unique Requirements: - Unified design and messaging across all signage - Clear security and visitor guidance messaging - Work performed both at contractor facilities and on-site at the Capitol campus - Firm-fixed-price contract structure

Description

This sources sought synopsis is issued solely for information and planning purposes to gain knowledge of potential sources capable of fully satisfying a potential requirement.  This is not a solicitation announcement nor does it promise a solicitation in the future. Quotes are not being requested or accepted at this time and a contract will not be awarded from this announcement.  No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. All submissions will become Government property and will not be returned.  The government will not provide any feedback or evaluations regarding the information submitted.

Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response under this sources sought notice.

Congressional leadership and the US Capitol Police (USCP) requested that the signage throughout the campus be replaced to to aid the over 3 million visitors to the Capitol campus.  The signage is to meet the following: signage at entrances are to be consolidated; the visual importance of security and the prohibited items list on the signs have a clear hierachy of information; and that there be a unified aesthetic across the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) campus.  AOC’s Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) completed a programming phase which gathered all of the stakeholders and developed a concept signage package which includes locations, types, and quantities of signs.

The Contractor shall provide design development, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation for AOC wide signage improvements.  The concept signage package includes nine sign types to be used at approximately 240 locations throughout the Capitol campus. The scope of work is for four separate Task Orders.  Task Order 1  is to provide design services for the modification of the concept design signage package for the Senate jurisdiction only.  Following the approval by Senate leadership, Task Order 2  is to prepare thcan commence which is for the messaging for each sign type at the designated location for each jurisdiction.  Task Order 3 is to prepare shop drawings for each sign at every location.  Task Order 4 is for the fabrication and installation for all of the signs.
