The U.S. Air Force at Travis Air Force Base is seeking vendor input for a subgrade soil evaluation and compaction feasibility study on Skymaster Drive as part of a roadway reconstruction project. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Air Force, Air Mobility Command, 60th Contracting Squadron (60 CONS LGC) at Travis AFB, California - Products/Services Requested: - Subgrade soil evaluation and compaction feasibility services - Obtain representative soil samples from Skymaster Drive - Test soil to confirm it can achieve 95% relative compaction - Assess suitability for supporting a new pavement section (6 inches asphalt concrete, 12 inches aggregate base) - Provide written recommendations on subgrade suitability and need for stabilization (without lime treatment or remediation) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Soil must be tested to verify 95% compaction can be achieved without lime treatment - Written recommendations must address both suitability and any stabilization needs - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the notice - Full scope of work is detailed in the attached Statement of Work (SOW) - This is a sources sought/request for information (RFI), not a solicitation for proposals or quotes

Description

Travis AFB, CA has a requirement to obtain a representative sample of the existing subgrade soil on Skymaster Drive to verify that the subgrade can achieve 95% compaction, and provide written recommendations regarding its suitability and any need for stabilization. Refer to the Statement of Work (SOW) for full details of the requirement.

The Request for Information (RFI) Sources Sought does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue a future RFQ. This sources Sought does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Further, the Air Force is not currently seeking proposal and will not accept unsolicited proposals.  Responders are advised the Government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this RFI. Not responding to the RFI, does not preclude participation in any further RFQ, if issued.
