Description

The Norfolk Naval Shipyard Code 900T (C900T), Production Training Division, requires an event venue, to host their Apprenticeship program graduation ceremony for years 2026-2030. 

NNSY Apprenticeship Program:

The NNSY Apprenticeship program is a planned and progressive, career-related, co-operative education employment program that develops and enhances an apprentice's knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) as it related to their chosen trade.  During the apprenticeship, as part of their normal work schedule/assignment, Apprentices will receive classroom academic instruction provided by an accredited Educational Institution, receive industrial trade-based instruction from Government personnel, and develop, apply and refine their KSAs through On-the-Job Learning (OJL) in scheduled work experience through the trade’s established key processes. Upon completion of the required academic classes, the Apprentice shall possess a Trade Technician Career Studies Certificate in a marine industrial occupation and be prepared to perform at the journeyman worker level. The apprentice will be certified as a journey-level worker by both the Department of Navy and the Department of Labor.
