The Assistant Secretary--Indian Affairs approved the Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California Leasing Ordinance under the Helping Expedite and Advance Responsible Tribal Homeownership Act of 2012 (HEARTH Act). This approval authorizes the Tribe to enter into leases without further Secretary of the Interior approval. The ordinance allows the Tribe to manage leases for various uses on Tribal trust lands, supporting economic development and self-determination.
