The City of Chino Public Works Department is seeking a contractor for the ST260 Pavement Improvements project in Zone 1 and Cypress Avenue. - Buyer: City of Chino Public Works Department, Engineering Division - Scope of work includes: - Removal and replacement of concrete improvements (curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways) - Asphalt pavement reconstruction, cold milling (23,640 sq yd), overlay, and patching - Crack sealing, slurry sealing (Type II: 800 tons; Type III: 290 tons) - Installation of new and adjustment of existing water valve cans, manhole collars, and utility covers - Installation of new Type E and F traffic loop detectors (5 units) - Traffic control, pedestrian detour planning, and construction surveying - Replacement of all pavement markings with reflective thermoplastic products - Landscaping, irrigation, and street lighting/traffic signal system work - Key materials: Portland Cement Concrete, Asphalt Concrete (C2 PG 64-10: 1,350 tons; ARHM: 600 tons), Rubber Polymer Modified Slurry, Rubberized Asphalt Concrete - Notable requirements: - California Class A contractor’s license - Compliance with prevailing wage laws and Caltrans/City of Chino standards - Electronic bid submission and provision of bid, performance, labor/materials, and warranty bonds - Liquidated damages of $3,600 per day for late completion - No temporary laydown yard provided; work must be completed within 45 working days - No specific OEMs or proprietary vendors are named; materials must meet City and Caltrans specifications

Description

This solicitation is for the construction of pavement improvements in Zone 1 and Cypress Avenue. The contractor is required to supply all labor, materials, and equipment to perform tasks including removal and replacement of existing concrete improvements, sawcutting, asphalt pavement reconstruction, asphalt cold mill and overlay, asphalt patching, crack sealing, slurry sealing, adjustment of water valves and manholes to grade, traffic control, and replacement of pavement markings with reflective thermoplastic products per Caltrans specifications. The project requires a California Class A contractor's license and includes a bid bond and various performance bonds. The work is to be completed within 45 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed.
