The University at Buffalo intends to make an award under discretionary authority for a Managed Cloud wireless onboarding solution. The solution is a hybrid on-prem and cloud-based, wireless onboarding, mobile-friendly portal to streamline onboarding for managed faculty/staff devices and unmanaged/BYOD student devices. It replaces passwords with certificate-based authentication, automates device onboarding, 802.1X configuration, and policy enforcement to reduce IT workload and ensure secure access. The system must support multiple operating systems, protocols, integrations with identity engines and MDMs, customizable onboarding pages, guest Wi-Fi access, and provide detailed reporting and API support.
