The North County Transit District (NCTD) is soliciting bids for the Escondido Subdivision Signal Modernization Project, which involves replacing obsolete train control and crossing systems, installing fiber, and interfacing equipment with existing systems at sixteen locations between MP 99.50 and MP 103.20. The project is divided into three design packages, with an optional third package covering additional locations between MP 103.70 and MP 105.90. The contractor is responsible for providing all materials, labor, and services necessary to complete the work, including site security, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and coordination of signal cutover plans during scheduled rail service outages. The project duration is 450 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with an optional 150-day extension for the additional scope.
