AMS seeks applications for official grain inspection and weighing services in six geographic areas under USGSA

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), part of the Department of Agriculture, is seeking new applicants to provide official grain inspection and weighing services in six geographic areas: - Five current agencies' designations are ending, and one agency has voluntarily cancelled its designation - AMS requests applications from private entities or State governmental agencies - Services must comply with the United States Grain Standards Act (USGSA) - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; this is an open call for qualified applicants - Geographic areas include: - Entire states: Georgia, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Utah - Specified counties in: Iowa, Minnesota, South Carolina, Oklahoma (Beaver, Cimarron, and Texas Counties), Texas - Applicants must have: - A Login.gov account - A MyFGIS number - Access to FGISOnline Delegations/Designations and Export Registrations (DDR) - AMS is also seeking public comments on the quality of services provided by the current agencies - Designations may be awarded for up to five years, subject to renewal or termination by the Secretary under USGSA provisions

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is requesting designation applications from private entities or State governmental agencies to provide official inspection and weighing services in six geographic areas due to the ending designations of five official agencies and the voluntary cancellation of one agency. The notice invites comments on the quality of services provided by the current agencies. Applications and comments must be received between June 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
