The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is seeking a contractor for a comprehensive renovation and improvement project at the East Hawaii Hilo District Office in Hilo, Hawaii. - Government Buyer: - Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL), East Hawaii Hilo District Office - Contracting office located at 91-5420 Kapolei Parkway, Kapolei, Hawaii - Products and Services Requested: - Full renovation and site improvements for office and associated buildings (DHHL and OHA buildings) - Civil works: replacement of water lines and backflow preventers, installation of water usage sub-meters, closed system for rain gutter downspouts, drainage improvements, and AC pavement - Building upgrades: parking lot resurfacing with ADA stalls, restroom ADA compliance upgrades, kitchen and appliance upgrades, replacement of HVAC systems, lighting upgrades to LED, roof leak repairs, interior and exterior painting, and flooring replacement (carpet to VCT) - Security and communications: installation of CCTV in garage area, telecom closet repairs, cell phone amplifier installation, and antenna relocation - Additional improvements: window guards, covers for split A/C units, chain link fence and entrance gate height modifications, enclosure of space between buildings, removal of interior partitions and wall shelves, and testing/replacement of electrical receptacles - Notable Requirements: - Performance and payment bonds required for bids $50,000 and above - Hawaii Apprenticeship Preference applies for bids $250,000 or more - Bidders must submit a Standard Qualification Questionnaire and bid security - Compliance with Hawaii General Excise Tax and state labor standards - All work must comply with detailed scope and plans provided in the solicitation attachments - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the solicitation is open to qualified general contractors - The project covers both DHHL and OHA buildings at the Hilo site
