The Ministry of Transportation and Transit of British Columbia is seeking proposals for major road closure and bridge works on Quesnel-Hixon Road, focusing on the Cottonwood River Canyon Bridge and Ahbau Creek Bridge: - Government Buyer: - Ministry of Transportation and Transit, British Columbia - Project Scope: - Road closure and construction of turnarounds and a rest site - Permanent closure of Quesnel-Hixon Road at Cottonwood River Canyon Bridge - Decommissioning and demolition of the Cottonwood River Canyon Bridge - Rehabilitation of the Ahbau Creek Bridge, including installation of treated cross-ties, structural steel floorbeams, and tension rods - Grading, excavation, granular material placement, culvert and riprap installation - Environmental protection and quality management - Products and Materials: - Corrugated steel pipe (600mm diameter, 2.0 WT AL2) – 17 units - Class 10, 25, and 50 kg riprap – 30, 20, and 20 units respectively - Untreated deck planks, treated cross-ties, vertical tension rods (25mm and 32mm), structural steel floorbeams - Services: - Mobilization, site office provision, environmental and quality management, demolition, clearing, grubbing, excavation, aggregate placement, bridge barrier installation, inspection and replacement of tension rods, boron rod treatment, and cleaning/protection of bridge components - Unique Requirements: - Emphasis on environmental management and ESG labor reporting - Conditional items for bridge rehabilitation (treated cross-ties, tension rods) - Work to be performed approximately 22 km north of Quesnel, BC, with delivery to the Ministry's office in Coquitlam - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation
