DOE Adds Thailand as Authorized Destination for Nuclear Technology Exports

The Department of Energy (DOE), through the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), has issued a Secretarial Determination regarding nuclear technology exports: - Thailand has been added to the list of generally authorized destinations for exports of controlled nuclear technology and assistance under DOE regulation 10 CFR part 810 - Exports to Thailand are now permitted under general authorization, provided they do not involve sensitive nuclear technology or activities requiring specific authorization - The determination was made in consultation with the Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission - Exporters must comply with reporting requirements as outlined in 10 CFR 810.12(e) - No specific products, OEMs, vendors, or purchase quantities are identified in this notice - This is not a procurement solicitation or award announcement

Description

On April 13, 2026, the Secretary of Energy issued a Determination adding Thailand to the generally authorized destinations list for exports of controlled nuclear technology and assistance under DOE's regulation on Assistance to Foreign Atomic Energy Activities. This Determination allows for general authorization status for Thailand to cover exports of Part 810-controlled nuclear technology and assistance, provided no sensitive nuclear technology or activities requiring specific authorization are involved. The Determination is published by the Department of Energy and includes reporting requirements for such exports.
