The Alaska Department of Corrections is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive medical biohazard waste removal, transport, and disposal services for correctional facilities statewide. - Government Buyer: - Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services - Products/Services Requested: - Routine removal, transport, and disposal of medical biohazard waste - Provision of biohazard collection containers with lids and red plastic liners - Destruction of sharps and incineration of medical documents and prescription slips - Scheduled pickups at multiple correctional facilities - Mail-out services with pre-paid return shipping labels for remote locations - Product Line Items (by facility, estimated annual quantities): - Anchorage Correctional Complex-East: 1,500 units - Anchorage Correctional Complex-West: 1,100 units - Anchorage Pharmacy (Incineration Only): 1,800 units - Fairbanks Correctional Center: 1,200 units - Hiland Mountain Correctional Center: 1,200 units - Goose Creek Correctional Center & Point Mackenzie Correctional Farm: 3,500 units - Mat-Su Pre Trial Facility: 1,300 units - Palmer Correctional Center: 1,500 units - Spring Creek Correctional Center (Disposal Only): 1,100 units - Anvil Mountain, Ketchikan, Lemon Creek, Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Centers (Mail Out): 250 units each - Wildwood Correctional Complex: 300 units (Mail Out or Pickup) - Wildwood Pre-Trial Facility: 125 units (Mail Out or Pickup) - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with EPA, OSHA, DEC, federal, state, and local regulations - Statewide service coverage, including remote and urban facilities - Mail-out and incineration services for specific locations - Contract term is one year with three optional one-year renewals - Estimated contract value: $120,000 to $140,000 - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; open to qualified service providers - Place of Performance: - Multiple correctional facilities across Alaska, including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla, Eagle River, Palmer, Sutton, Seward, Kenai, Bethel, Nome, and others

The Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services, is soliciting bids for the routine removal, transport, and disposal of medical biohazard waste from Department of Corrections facilities statewide in Alaska. The scope includes services across the state. Vendors must register with the procurement officer to receive amendments and be added to the vendor list. The State of Alaska complies with the ADA and provides auxiliary aids or services upon request.
