Description
The Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP) aims to assist experienced nonprofit organizations, state and local governments, and public housing authorities in implementing comprehensive programs for safety and functional home modifications. These modifications are intended to meet the needs of low-income seniors by reducing fall risks, improving safety, increasing accessibility, and enhancing functional abilities at home. The program's goal is to enable low-income elderly persons to age in place rather than move to nursing homes or assisted care facilities. Eligible applicants include nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, public and Indian housing authorities, and various levels of government entities with at least 3 years of experience serving elderly adults.
