Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College intends to repatriate certain cultural items that are sacred objects or objects of cultural patrimony. These items have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The repatriation may occur on or after June 11, 2026. The items include ceremonial regalia such as a hair ornament, head band, feather pompom, and rattle, collected and donated to the museum in 1929.
