Description

The Coast Guard is proposing to establish a temporary safety zone on the James River in Richmond, VA, to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with a fireworks display scheduled for June 13, 2026. The safety zone will restrict access to all vessels and persons within a defined area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Virginia. The safety zone will be enforced from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the day of the event. Comments on the proposed rule are invited until May 27, 2026.
