Description
The Field Museum has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified hair clippings belonging to one individual of Native American ancestry, specifically Sargent Kahanamoku, collected during a 1931 research trip. The museum has determined that there is a known lineal descendant connected to these remains, named Didi Robello. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after June 11, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the Field Museum's authorized representative.
