Description
The Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains and objects from various counties in Kansas and some possibly from Nebraska, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. KSHS has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and objects and the Kaw Nation, Oklahoma. Repatriation of the human remains and associated funerary objects may occur on or after June 11, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at KSHS.
