The University of Texas at Austin, Texas Archeological Research Laboratory (TARL) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains representing 22 individuals and 342,744 associated funerary objects from archaeological sites in Texas, culturally affiliated with the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. The notice details the cultural affiliation and the repatriation process, which may begin on or after June 11, 2026. Written requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at TARL.
