Notice of Intended Repatriation of Cultural Items by Museum of Riverside, CA

Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Museum of Riverside intends to repatriate 44 cultural items that meet the definition of objects of cultural patrimony and have a cultural affiliation with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, California. The items include 33 potsherds and 11 baskets collected from various locations and donors. Repatriation may occur on or after June 11, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the authorized representative at the Museum of Riverside.
