Caltrans District 11 is seeking certified Small Business, Micro Business, or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise contractors to replace HVAC systems at the District 11 Museum in San Diego, CA. - Government Buyer: - California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 11 Facilities, Division of Procurement and Contracts - OEMs and Vendors: - Carrier (primary HVAC equipment) - Honeywell (humidifier) - EBAC (dehumidifier) - Products/Services Requested: - Removal of three existing heat pump HVAC units - Installation of two new Carrier heat pump split systems: - 1 x 5-ton Carrier heat pump split system (air-cooled, 208V, single phase, minimum 18 SEER, 8.0 HSPF, R-454B refrigerant) - 1 x 4-ton Carrier heat pump split system (same specs as above) - 1 x Honeywell HM750 or equivalent humidifier (5 lb/hr electrode steam) - 1 x EBAC DD200 or equivalent dehumidifier (silica gel desiccant) - New copper refrigerant line sets (2) - Flexible duct connectors (2) - Secondary drain pans (2) - Electrical reconnection for both systems - Direct Digital Controls (DDC) reprogramming to integrate new units and remove old - Protective expanded metal steel cages for condensing units (2) - Ancillary items: anchoring hardware, air balancing, system start-up, training, and warranty - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractor must hold valid C-20 HVAC license and Motor Carrier Permit - Subcontracting is not permitted - Compliance with prevailing wage laws for bids over $15,000 - Adherence to historic site conditions and immediate work stoppage if hazardous materials are found - All work to be performed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays - Control panels involved are General Electric (outside) and Honeywell (inside) - Protective cages must be powder-coated to match building exterior and tamper-resistant

Description

This solicitation is for the replacement of HVAC units in San Diego County by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, permits, disposal fees, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove three old heat pump HVAC units and install two equivalent new units provided by the contractor. The work is to be performed at the District 11 Museum located at 4024 Taylor Street, San Diego, CA. The contract requires a C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor license and is set aside for certified Small Business (SB), Micro Business (MB), or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) only.
