The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), in partnership with the U.S. Air Force 502d Communications Squadron, is seeking contractors for an IDIQ contract to provide fiber optic cabling installation and expansion services at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Texas. - Government Buyer: - Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) Procurement Department - U.S. Air Force, 502d Communications Squadron, JBSA-Randolph - Products/Services Requested: - Installation, testing, termination, and commissioning of single-mode armored fiber optic cabling infrastructure - Two main project areas: Randolph West and East Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) - Fiber optic cable expansion projects between specific buildings (e.g., Building 675 to 55 and 990 to 28) - Associated infrastructure: conduits, geotextile fabrics, maintenance holes, fiber optic distribution panels - All labor, materials, equipment, mobilization, program management, bonding, insurance, environmental compliance, testing, labeling, documentation, and as-built drawings - Notable Requirements: - Strict compliance with military, federal, and industry standards (BICSI, UFC 3-580-01) - Adherence to JBSA safety, security, and environmental protocols (site safety meetings, confined space procedures, accident reporting, environmental waste disposal) - Directional boring required for cable installation - Qualified personnel with relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI) - Detailed submittals, as-built documentation, and a 1-year warranty - Work performed at unclassified level; some areas may require escorted access - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation; open to qualified providers of fiber optic cabling and installation services. - Place of Performance: - Joint Base San Antonio (including Randolph, Lackland, Camp Bullis, Fort Sam Houston) - Specific project sites at JBSA-Randolph Air Traffic Control Towers and designated buildings
