The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is seeking qualified contractors for a Mass Parking Apron Repair project at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District - Project Scope: - Remove approximately 53,000 square yards of existing Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement (15–18 inches thick) - Replace with approximately 55,200 square yards of 18-inch PCC pavement and 9,600 square yards of 12-inch PCC pavement - Remove 10,000 square yards of 2-inch hot-mix asphalt and 1,220 square yards of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt - Replace 1,800 square yards of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt - Install joint sealant, replace cathodic protection test pits, perform pavement marking, seeding, and minor grading - Technical Requirements: - New PCC pavement must comply with UFGS 32 13 14.13 for airfields and heavy-duty pavements - Aggregate must meet strict deleterious material limits, severe weather classification, and Alkali-Silica Reactivity testing - Aggregate must have a proven durability record or meet specific ASTM standards - Hot-mix asphalt replacement must comply with UFGS 32 12 15.13 - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Contractor bonding capacity of at least $34 million is required - NAICS code 237310 (Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction) applies

Description

Mass Parking Apron Repair. This project is located at Minot AFB, North Dakota. This is a Fully-Designed Project. Project will include the following: Remove approximately 53,000 Square Yards of PCC pavement varying in thickness between 15 inches and 18 inches and replace with approximately 55,200 SY of 18-inch PCC pavement and 9,600 SY of 12-inch PCC. New PCC pavement shall conform to 32 13 14.13 CONCRETE PAVEMENT FOR AIRFIELDS AND OTHER HEAVY-DUTY PAVEMENTS with very stringent fine and coarse aggregate deleterious materials limits unique to military airfield pavement construction, weather severity classification of severe, enforcement of evaluation and testing for Alkali-Silica Reactivity per UFGS 32 13 14.13 requirements for both fine and coarse aggregates, Air Force durability requirement that aggregate shall have a satisfactory service record in freezing and thawing of at least 5 years successful service in three concrete paving projects or aggregate with durability factor of 50 or more when subjected to freezing and thawing of specimens prepared in accordance with ASTM C 1646/C 1646M and tested in accordance with ASTM C 666/C 666M, Procedure A for aggregates not having a satisfactory demonstrable service record. Removal of approximately 10,000 Square Yards of 2-inch hot-mix asphalt pavement, 1,220 square yards of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt and replacing 1,800 SY of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt pavement conforming to UFGS 32 12 15.13 HOT-MIX ASPHALT AIRFIELD PAVING; Associated work includes the installation of preformed and poured joint sealant; removal and replacement of cathodic protection test pits; pavement marking; seeding and minor grading.
