This consulting engagement requires a highly specific set of knowledge regarding complex wildfire data systems and wildland fire management structures for developing and applying research to facilitate the use and application of the foundational data for on-the-ground management. The work is a national scale, high visibility project that reports directly to U.S. Congress and federal agency leadership with implications for major future funding to CSU and systematic on the ground improvements in wildfire mitigation, response, and recovery. The consultant must have PhD-level expertise, in-depth knowledge of federal wildfire data systems, and operational experience in wildland fire management.
