THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE IS POSTED IN THE GOVERNMENTWIDE POINT OF ENTRY IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 12.201-1(c)(2) [Deviation Aug 2025]. 

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lexington, Kentucky intends to make a single award to a responsible entity that will provide all necessary equipment required for replacing a complete UPS system for the radio room needing a Eaton 9PXM, 16KVA / 14.4KW UPS, 208/240V INPUT, HW, 52 MIN at the Federal Medical Center (FMC Lexington) located at 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, Kentucky, 40511.

This acquisition will be conducted using FAR Part 12 [Deviation Aug 2025], Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, in conjunction with the simplified procedures at FAR 12.201‑1 [Deviation Aug 2025]. In accordance with FAR 12.201‑1(c)(2) [Deviation Aug 2025], quotations will be solicited directly from at least three sources. This pre‑solicitation notice is posted in the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE) to promote competition to the maximum extent practicable. 

FAR Part 12.102 Restricting competition (a) For acquisitions valued at or below the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), document the decision that only one source is available and the basis for the decision. Our institutions current radios will only compatible with the following complete UPS system for our radio room Eaton 9PXM, 16KVA / 14.4KW UPS, 208/240V INPUT, HW, 52 MIN at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington, KY, located at 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511.

The NAICS code for this requirement is 334220 - Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing.

The anticipated award date for this requirement is May 26th ,2026.

This synopsis is intended only for those who would be entering into a Prime contract with the FBOP for the entirety of this project. The FBOP does not award subcontracts. Subcontracts (if applicable/necessary) are the responsibility of the Prime contractor. The FBOP has no privity of the contract with subcontractors.
