NMFS received a request from Virginia Electric and Power Company, doing business as Dominion Virginia Power, for renewal of an incidental take permit under the Endangered Species Act. The permit pertains to activities associated with the lawful operation and maintenance of the Dominion Chesterfield Power Station in Chesterfield, VA. The renewal would authorize additional take of Atlantic sturgeon from the Chesapeake Bay Distinct Population Segment for 10 years. Dominion proposes to monitor and mitigate impacts of incidental take of sturgeon eggs and larvae during power station operations. Public comments are requested by June 10, 2026.
