Description

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is offering approximately $28.5 million in Fiscal Year 2026 funding through the Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development Planning. This program supports local communities in integrating land use and transportation planning around new fixed guideway or core capacity improvement projects. Planning must focus on improving economic development, ridership, multimodal connectivity, transit access for pedestrians and bicycles, private sector engagement, infrastructure needs, and mixed-use development near transit stations. Eligible applicants must be existing FTA grantees and either project sponsors or entities with land use planning authority in eligible transit corridors. Only one application per transit capital project corridor is allowed.
