The City of Brookings is seeking bids for the 2026 Brookings Trails Project, focused on constructing reinforced concrete sidewalks and related site work at multiple city locations. - Government Buyer: - City of Brookings, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department - City Council of Brookings, City Clerk Office - Brookings City & County Government Center - Products/Services Requested: - Construction of approximately 18,200 square feet of fiber reinforced and bar reinforced concrete sidewalks (6' and 8' wide, 5" thick) - 17th Avenue: 7,700 sq ft (8' wide, fiber reinforced) - Outdoor Adventure Center: 2,600 sq ft (8' wide, fiber reinforced) - Moriarity Park: 3,450 sq ft (6' wide, fiber reinforced) - Indian Hills Park: 2,550 sq ft (6' wide, fiber reinforced) - Doral Drive: 1,900 sq ft (6' wide, bar reinforced) - Unclassified excavation at each site (80–265 cubic yards per site) - Contractor furnished borrow at select sites (50 cubic yards each at Outdoor Adventure Center and Doral Drive) - Installation of 45 feet of 6" underdrain pipe (Doral Drive) - Removals, erosion control, and all incidentals necessary to complete the work - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Preference for materials procured within South Dakota - Bidders must provide a certified/cashier's check for 5% of the bid or a 10% bid bond - Performance and payment bonds required for at least the contract price - All applicable South Dakota tax licenses required - Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes; late submissions not accepted - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; open to qualified construction contractors - Work to be performed at multiple city park and street locations in Brookings, South Dakota

This solicitation is for the construction of various concrete sidewalks and related excavation work in multiple locations including 17th Avenue, Outdoor Adventure Center, Moriarity Park, Indian Hills Park, and Doral Drive. The work includes fiber reinforced and bar reinforced concrete sidewalks, unclassified excavation, contractor furnished borrow, underdrain pipe installation, removals, erosion control, and other incidentals necessary to complete the project as per construction documents. Bidders must submit sealed bids by May 19, 2026, and comply with bonding, licensing, and payment requirements. Project plans and specifications are available for inspection and procurement at the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department or online.
