Greenville County Detention Center is seeking a qualified distributor to supply a comprehensive range of food products and associated non-food consumable supplies for inmate and staff meals: - Government Buyer: - Greenville County, South Carolina - Detention Center (place of performance) - Procurement Services Division (contracting office) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or brands are named; vendors must be able to source and supply across all listed categories, including specialty diet products, either directly or through a distribution network - Products/Services Requested: - Food products: proteins (meats, poultry, fish, eggs, legumes, meat alternatives), dairy (milk, cheese, butter, yogurt), produce (fresh, frozen, canned fruits and vegetables), grains and starches (bread, pasta, rice, cereals, flour), canned and shelf-stable goods (soups, sauces, condiments, canned proteins, dry mixes), beverages (juice, powdered mixes), fats and oils, seasonings and condiments, specialty/therapeutic diet products (Kosher, Halal, gluten-free, low-sodium, etc.) - Non-food supplies: disposable meal trays, utensils (security-grade), cups, napkins, food-grade wrapping, portion containers, gloves, aprons, cleaning and sanitizing supplies, trash can liners, kitchen-grade chemicals - Emergency food supply: maintain a ten-day shelf-stable supply for 1,600 inmates (approx. 48,000 meal equivalents) - Services: weekly delivery, menu development and nutritional analysis, officer dining room supply, emergency supply maintenance, optional kitchen equipment leasing - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Vendors must have at least three years of institutional food supply experience - Compliance with USDA and FDA standards, and FDA registration if applicable - Flat weekly rate pricing model based on average daily population - Strict delivery, food safety, and product quality requirements - Mandatory pre-proposal meeting and site visit - Ability to supply specialty and therapeutic diet products - Emergency supply must be replenished within 72 hours as needed - Menu must meet 2,500 kcal/day and be approved by the County - Officer dining room meals and menu included in scope - Option for kitchen equipment leasing, including installation and maintenance - Place of Performance: - Greenville County Detention Center, 20 McGee St, Greenville, SC - Greenville County Procurement Services Division (contracting office) - Contract Structure: - Initial term begins upon Notice to Proceed, with up to four annual renewals - Year-round, 365-day delivery and service - Annual price adjustment options
