The City of Fredericksburg is seeking bids for the Sophia Street and Lewis Street Drainage Project to upgrade stormwater infrastructure and restore affected areas. - Government Buyer: - City of Fredericksburg, Finance/Procurement Office, City Managers Office - Products and Construction Work Requested: - Removal of existing 8-inch and 12-inch storm sewer pipes, drop inlet, and manhole - Installation of new 24-inch and 30-inch reinforced concrete storm sewer pipes (RCP), including: - 24 linear feet of 24" RCP class 4 with gasketed joint - 125 linear feet of 30" RCP class 3 with gasketed joint - Installation of new manhole (MH1) and new drop inlet (DI-3B, 8' length) - Installation of silt fence (500 linear feet), inlet protection (3 units), construction entrance, and outlet protection with rip-rap (120 cubic yards) - Removal and replacement of curb and gutter (CG-6, 75 linear feet) - Undercutting and replacement of unsuitable material with filter fabric and stone (75 cubic yards) - Borrow material (325 cubic yards) and permanent seeding (0.5 acre) - Services Requested: - Asphalt restoration and pavement resurfacing - Erosion and sediment control (installation and maintenance) - Traffic control during construction - Site restoration to original or better condition - Mobilization for project start - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Compliance with Virginia licensing and safety standards - Contractor must be licensed in Fredericksburg and registered in Virginia - Substantial completion required within 120 calendar days after Notice to Proceed - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are specified; standard civil construction materials and methods are required.

Description

The City of Fredericksburg is soliciting bids for storm drainage improvements at the intersection of Lewis Street and Sophia Street. The project involves removing existing storm sewer infrastructure including pipes, a drop inlet, and a manhole, and replacing them with upgraded facilities such as new manholes, drop inlets, and larger diameter storm sewer pipes.
