Description
This solicitation seeks proposals to demonstrate the feasibility of printing a large aviation component (greater than 1 square foot or 1 cubic foot) using a friction-based solid-state additive manufacturing method. The project includes optimizing process parameters, establishing repeatability, and delivering comprehensive process, microstructural, and mechanical evaluation reports. The technology should be transferable for rapid production of large-scale aluminum aerospace components. Proposals must be submitted via the DoD SBIR/STTR portal.
