The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Human Foods Program, is seeking to procure a newly manufactured Quadrupole-Orbitrap Hybrid Mass Spectrometer to advance proteomic research in food safety and toxicology. - Government Buyer: - Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Health and Human Services - Human Foods Program, Office of Laboratory Operations and Applied Science, Office of Toxicology, Division of Analytical Chemistry, Spectroscopy Mass Spectrometry Branch - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEM is named, but the requirement is for a Quadrupole-Orbitrap Hybrid Mass Spectrometer (commonly manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific) - Products/Services Requested: - One (1) Quadrupole-Orbitrap Hybrid Mass Spectrometer - Must include: advanced ion source, HESI spray insert, calibration probe, internal calibrant ion source, independent syringe pump, vacuum system with 6-stage split-flow turbomolecular pump, high-capacity transfer tube, electrodynamic ion funnel, segmented quadrupole mass filter, high-field orbitrap mass analyzer, ion routing multipole, integrated data acquisition and analysis software, maintenance consumables kit, and uninterruptable power supply - Must support high-resolution mass spectrometry (up to 480,000 FWHM), 70 Hz acquisition speed, and multiple acquisition modes for complex protein analysis - Delivery, installation, and demonstration of instrument performance at FDA/HFP laboratory - Trade-in and deinstallation of existing instrumentation - One-year parts and labor warranty (starting from installation/acceptance) - Three days of instructor-led on-site training at the FDA/HFP facility - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Instrument must be newly manufactured (not refurbished) - Includes trade-in and deinstallation of existing equipment - Comprehensive installation, training, and warranty support required - All work and delivery to be performed at the FDA Human Foods Program laboratory in College Park, Maryland

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Human Foods Program (HFP) intends to award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract for the purchase of one (1) Quadrupole-Orbitrap Hybrid Mass Spectrometer in support of qualitative and quantitative proteomic research methods. This acquisition is set aside 100% for Small Business.
