Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) proposes to revise System of Records NRC 16 to reflect the issuance of a final rule establishing a new risk-informed, technology-inclusive regulatory framework for advanced reactors. This revision updates the system to include records about individuals licensed as operators under the new regulations, in addition to those licensed under pre-existing regulations. The system records include applications, examination results, license issuance and renewals, medical status, and related correspondence. The notice is subject to a 30-day public comment period ending June 8, 2026.
