Description

The City of Salem is soliciting sealed bids for the construction of the Downtown Streetscape Improvements Project on Main Street from White Oak Alley to Market Street. The project includes demolition and removal of existing sidewalks, curbs, and related site and electrical features; construction of new paver sidewalks with sub-grade improvements; concrete curbs; asphalt pavement; striping; new storm drainage piping and inlets; adjustments to water appurtenances; fire hydrant installation or relocation; street lighting and electrical components; landscaping and irrigation systems; and other streetscape site features and furnishings as detailed in the project drawings. Bids will be received for a single prime contract on a unit price basis. The project requires bidders to be VDOT pre-qualified contractors and to provide a Vendor ID number on the bid form.
