Description
DLNR/DOFAW operates a research station on Kure Atoll, approximately 1,200 miles northwest of Oahu, with full-time rotating staff and visiting researchers and volunteers. Due to the remoteness and lack of immediate medical care, DLNR/DOFAW seeks remote medical consulting services to provide medical assistance to staff and visitors. The services include 24/7 telemedical consultation by licensed physicians, advice on medical resources and supplies, coordination of inventories and restocking, medical direction, telecommunication support pending evacuation, and arrangement of medical evacuations. The medical director must maintain emergency board certification and Hawaii medical licenses.
