Description
This solicitation seeks the development of a lower temperature methanol steam reforming catalyst for fuel cells aimed at reducing thermal signature and improving system startup times. The project involves creating pelletized catalysts capable of processing methanol water at near atmospheric conditions with full conversion and supporting a minimum GHSV of 6000. The catalyst should operate for over 1000 hours with low degradation and maintain activity greater than 135 µmolH2/gcat-sec at low temperatures. The effort is structured in phases: Phase I involves an initial study and sample provision; Phase II focuses on developing and delivering small diameter pellets or supported monoliths; Phase III includes integration into existing fuel cell systems, software/firmware updates, and delivery of five functioning systems with SAR.
