The Department of National Defence (DND) of Canada is seeking industry feedback for the planned procurement of Diesel Driven Fire Pumps (DDFP) for Halifax-Class Frigates: - Government Buyer: - Department of National Defence (DND), Royal Canadian Navy, DGMEPM - D Mar P 9 - Products/Services Requested: - Fourteen (14) Diesel Driven Fire Pumps (DDFP) for Halifax-Class Frigates - Option for twelve (12) additional DDFPs - Each DDFP includes diesel engine, centrifugal pump, steel sub-base, flexible coupling, control panels, motor starters, freshwater expansion/header tanks - Must meet: 147 m3/h capacity, 10 bar head, max 1,214 kg, max 80" x 41" x 52" dimensions, 100% duty cycle for 100 hours/year - Environmental tolerances and compliance with MIL-DTL-901E (shock) and MIL-STD-167-1A (vibration) - Fuel: Naval distillate fuel CGSB-3.11-2017 - ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system - Lloyd's Register certification for engines and pumps - Integration with existing ship systems - Includes spares, packaging, support and test equipment for two years of maintenance - Services: - Task-based training sessions for operation and maintenance, to be held in Halifax, NS or Victoria, BC - Provisioning documentation, operating and maintenance manuals, and parts lists - Acceptance testing: First Article Acceptance Test (FAAT) and Final Inspection and Test (FI&T) for each DDFP - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Emphasis on Buy Canadian Policy and Canadian content - Contractor must provide ISO 9001:2015 and Lloyd's Register certifications - DDFPs must replace obsolete Deutz MWM D226 engines and Ingersoll-Rand FF704121 pumps - Delivery and installation at Canadian shipyards or His Majesty's Canadian Dockyards - Training and documentation to support long-term maintenance and sustainment - Place of Performance/Delivery: - Shipyards contracted by Canada or His Majesty's Canadian Dockyards - Training in Halifax, NS or Victoria, BC - Contracting office at Department of National Defence, Ottawa, ON

The Department of National Defence (DND) is requesting industry feedback regarding the procurement of fourteen (14) new Diesel Driven Fire Pumps (DDFP) for use by the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) on the Halifax-Class Frigates, with an option to procure twelve (12) additional DDFPs if necessary. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to share the DND's requirements and gather industry input on potential options to meet these needs, including availability of goods, industry capability to meet technical requirements, and sustainment solutions. The procurement includes design, testing, delivery, support, spares, packaging, and support & test equipment for maintenance. The contract duration is estimated at 12 months with a proposed start date of August 1, 2026.
