Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is seeking qualified contractors for the supply, installation, and commissioning of a generator building at the Pinkut Creek Spawning Channel near Burns Lake, British Columbia. - Government Buyer: - Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Procurement Hub - Contracting officer: Terri Jones - Project Scope: - Supply, delivery, modification, installation, and commissioning of a new 20-foot transportable enclosure to serve as a weather-tight generator building - Structural and envelope modifications: insulation, service penetrations, windows, louvers, ventilation openings - Installation of mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems for safe generator operation - Supply and installation of a skid-mounted 30 kVA diesel generator - Supply and installation of a compatible diesel fuel storage tank (minimum 24 hours operation at 80% load) - Testing and commissioning of all installed equipment and systems - Products/Services Requested: - 1 x 20-foot generator building/enclosure - 1 x 30 kVA skid-mounted diesel generator - 1 x diesel fuel storage tank (minimum 24 hours at 80% load) - Structural, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical installation services - Testing and commissioning services - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractors must have experience in building electrical or power services - Project manager must have at least ten years of construction management experience - Continuous WorkSafe BC coverage required - Foundation construction and external electrical integration are excluded from scope - Procurement may be conditionally set aside for Indigenous businesses if sufficient compliant bids are received - Two-phase selection process: qualifications evaluation followed by financial bids - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; bidders may propose suitable generator and tank brands - Specifications and technical drawings will be provided in Phase Two

This project involves the supply, delivery, modification, installation, and commissioning of a self-contained generator building at the Pinkut Creek Spawning Channel near Burns Lake, British Columbia. The work consists of converting a 20-foot transportable enclosure into a weather-tight generator building to support on-site power generation. The scope includes structural and building envelope modifications, installation of a skid-mounted diesel generator and fuel storage tank, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems installation, and testing and commissioning of all equipment. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, installation, and coordination necessary to complete the work according to applicable codes and project drawings, excluding foundation construction and external electrical integration.
