Navy SBIR: EO/IR Rapid Range Determination for Airborne Targets in Raid Scenarios

The U.S. Navy, through the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, is seeking innovative research and development solutions for rapid range determination of airborne targets in complex raid scenarios under the SBIR program. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) - Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division - Products/Services Requested: - Research and development of electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensing technology for rapid range measurement of multiple small, fast-moving airborne targets - Technology must use active, semi-active, or passive means and must not require modification of existing wide field-of-view (WFOV) or narrow field-of-view (NFOV) cameras - Prototype must demonstrate: - Range measurement for 10 targets simultaneously - 1 meter resolution at 1000 meters - 45-degree azimuth coverage, scalable to 190 degrees - Phased effort: - Phase I: Concept development and feasibility assessment - Phase II: Prototype development, demonstration, and delivery to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division - Phase III: Technology transition, scaling, and production support - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Solution must integrate with existing camera systems without modification - Phase II work may be classified and requires a secret facility clearance - Compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 - Open to eligible small businesses under the SBIR program - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the solicitation is open to novel solutions from small businesses
