NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego intends to award a sole source contract to Springer Nature Customer Service Center, LLC for a complete publication of open access textbook provisionally titled Military Microgrids – Installation, Operational, Expeditionary, and Tactical Microgrid Applications to Springer Nature Customer Service Center LLC (Springer). The textbook is about military microgrids; and have the book published in open access and are intending to put out a new edition at a cadence of every 1-2 years. The textbook comprise of approximately 320 pages including approximately 90 illustrations. The textbook is drafted by multiple editors. The work is intended to be published under the terms of Creative Commons Attirbution-NonCommercial-NoDerviatives 4.0 International License.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit information in response to this notice prior to closing date.   A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closed date specified herein will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
