Tully. - Government Buyer: - Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), Procurement Services, 200 Kent Street, Ottawa, ON - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vessel manufacturers are named; procurement is open to qualified vessel owners/operators - Products/Services Requested: - Charter of a certified oceanographic research vessel (over 2000 GT, minimum 65m length, 30-day endurance at sea) - Provision of a competent crew, including captain, crew, and scientific technicians for 24-hour operations - Accommodations for at least 15 scientific personnel, bridge space for observers, and satellite internet (minimum 100 GB data allowance) - Support for deep-sea habitat mapping, plankton monitoring, marine mammal surveys, and deployment/recovery of scientific equipment - Mission planning, logistics, port services, and technical support - Health, safety, and compliance with occupational standards, including lifesaving equipment and insurance - Post-mission reporting and debriefing - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Vessel must be fully certified for Canadian Pacific and international waters, with endurance for extended missions (up to 30 days at sea) - Must support multidisciplinary research (oceanographic, biological, geological) - Operations may extend beyond 200 nautical miles into international waters and US territorial sea - Optional charter services for up to 90 additional days - Selection based on highest combined technical merit and price - Place of Performance: - Institute of Ocean Sciences, Sidney, BC; Canadian Pacific waters and Northeast Pacific Ocean; mobilization/demobilization in Sidney and Victoria, BC
