The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), under the Department of the Interior, is seeking grant proposals from Federally recognized Tribal entities and Tribal Energy Development Organizations (TEDOs) for the Energy and Mineral Development Program (EMDP): - Purpose: Fund projects to identify, evaluate, and assess energy or mineral resources on Indian land as defined by 25 U.S.C. ยง 3501 - Eligible applicants: Only Federally recognized Tribes and TEDOs with active UEI and ASAP enrollment; federal agencies are not eligible - Activities funded: - Resource inventories and assessments for energy and mineral resources (biomass, transportation fuels, hydroelectric, geothermal, oil, natural gas, helium, sand, gravel, coal, precious minerals, base minerals such as lead, copper, zinc, etc.) - Feasibility studies, market analyses, economic evaluations, baseline studies, and other pre-development studies - Projects supporting America's 250th birthday (American250), including preservation, planning, interpretation, public engagement, and rehabilitation - Project requirements: - One-year period of performance - No cost sharing or matching required - Awards range from $10,000 to $2,500,000; 10-30 awards expected - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; eligible work may be performed by universities, colleges, consulting firms, national labs, or other qualified organizations (excluding federal agencies) - Place of performance: Indian land as defined by federal statute; BIA Division of Energy and Mineral Development in Lakewood, CO is the contracting office

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is soliciting grant proposals from Federally recognized Tribal entities for the Energy and Mineral Development Program (EMDP) grant.
