Description
This temporary rule implements measures for the Northeast multispecies fishery under Regional Administrator authority for the 2026 fishing year. It allocates zero trips into the Closed Area II Yellowtail Flounder/Haddock Special Access Program for common pool vessels targeting yellowtail flounder and closes the Regular B Days-at-Sea Program. The measures aim to achieve optimum yield for relevant stocks while preventing in-season closures or quota overages. The rule is effective from May 5, 2026, through April 30, 2027.
