Description
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is soliciting responses to a Request for Expertise (RFE) to designate a Lead University responsible for establishing a Research and Education Center. The Center will develop, demonstrate, and deploy a public wildfire catastrophe model to provide wildfire safety benefits to California communities and align wildfire risk reduction efforts across federal, state, and local levels. The Lead University will engage stakeholders including tribal nations, vulnerable communities, and fire experts, and develop a strategy for the Center to become self-sustaining. The contract term is up to three years, and only California State Universities and University of California campuses are eligible to respond.
