NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka is seeking specialized services for the replacement of hot and cold potable water piping aboard the USS Nueces (APL-40), a U.S. Navy vessel stationed at Sasebo City Naval Base, Japan. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Navy, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka, SRF and JRMC Yokosuka/Sasebo - Scope of Work: - Replacement of hot potable water piping in Officer Stateroom No. 0114 (01-24-0-L) and cold potable water piping in compartment 2-26-4 (AC Diesel Generator Room No.2 Upper Level A-318-E) - Includes removal of existing piping, installation of new copper and bronze piping, insulation, chemical disinfection, bacteriological testing, and pressure testing - Asbestos-containing material analysis and reporting required for existing insulation - All work to be performed on the USS Nueces (APL-40) at Sasebo City Naval Base and/or SRF and JRMC Yokosuka/Sasebo - Products and Materials (Government Furnished): - Copper piping (3/8" IPS, 0.675" x 0.065", MILT-24107; 0.625" OD x 0.040" THK, ASTM B280) - Bronze couplings, elbows, and round bars (various part numbers) - Pipe covering and insulation (NH Armaflex, non-halogen rubber foam, insulation sheets, insulation block) - Glass cloth, adhesives (white and neoprene, MIL spec), rubber sheets, textile tape, welding electrodes - Snap fasteners and other installation hardware - Services Requested: - Removal and replacement of potable water piping (hot and cold) - Chemical disinfection and bacteriological testing by certified labs - Operating pressure tests to ensure zero leakage - Asbestos analysis and condition reporting - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All work must comply with U.S. Navy technical specifications and quality assurance standards - Bacteriological testing must be performed by a local government agency or licensed Japanese laboratory - Only firms with an active Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA) or Agreement for Boat Repair (ABR) in Japan are eligible - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named; materials are specified by military and ASTM standards - Quantities: - Detailed quantities for each material are provided (e.g., 4 units of copper pipe, 1 unit of brazing alloy, 5 units of 2-1/2" IPS pipe, etc.) - Place of Performance: - USS Nueces (APL-40), Sasebo City Naval Base, Japan - SRF and JRMC Yokosuka/Sasebo, Japan
