The USDA Forest Service is seeking information from industry on advanced camera and sensor payloads for use with Freefly unmanned aircraft (AltaX and Astro): - The RFI is for market research and does not constitute a solicitation or contract commitment - Payloads of interest include: - Stabilized full-frame photogrammetry camera systems (60 MP, interchangeable lenses, mechanical shutter, GNSS sync) - Multi-sensor payloads combining IR, EO, and laser rangefinder (high-res zoom EO, wide-angle EO, radiometric thermal, LRF, NIR illuminator) - Thermal and multispectral imaging payloads (radiometric thermal, 5-band multispectral, RGB context camera, real-time video, vegetation indices) - All payloads must be compatible with Freefly aircraft and API/SDK, NDAA compliant, MISB metadata capable, ≤1100g, ≤30W, IP54 rated - Intended applications include mapping, surveying, wildfire recovery, search and rescue, and land management - Respondents may be asked to demonstrate integration with approved USFS unmanned aircraft - No specific OEMs, part numbers, or quantities are listed; vendors should provide information on their capabilities and offerings - Place of performance is the United States, with the Forest Service as the government buyer

This RFI is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals. The information provided may be utilized by the USFS in developing its acquisition strategy and requirements documents. It does not commit the Government to pay any cost incurred in the submission of responses or in making necessary studies or designs, nor to contract for supplies or services. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this contemplated effort. Any cost incurred shall be at the Offeror’s own risk. Live demonstrations that are currently integrated with approved USFS unmanned aircraft may be requested at a future date. Responses shall include potential Offeror’s Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), be in PDF format, and emailed to the Contracting Officer by 1200 hours MT, June 12, 2026, at steven.b.peterson@usda.gov.
