Argonne National Laboratory, operated by UChicago Argonne, LLC for the U.S. Department of Energy, is seeking proposals for the ALCF Artemis Compute Cluster—a high-performance computing system for the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. - Government Buyer: - Argonne National Laboratory (DOE Contractor), Lemont, Illinois - Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) - Products and Services Requested: - 36 compute nodes, each with: - At least 128 physical CPU cores supporting confidential computing - 1TB DDR5 memory - 2x 240GB OS SSDs in RAID 1 - 12-16TB local storage in hardware RAID - 1Gbps management NIC - 2x NVIDIA Bluefield-3 B3240 Dual-Port QSFP112 400G network adapters - Hardware, software, and licensing for the compute cluster - Delivery and on-site installation (rack mounting, cabling, configuration) - Five years of 9x5 next business day hardware maintenance and support, including on-site parts replacement and on-premises hardware monitoring software - Optional on-site spare parts cache - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All nodes must support confidential computing - Installation must comply with Argonne safety regulations and use existing HPE P9K58A racks and PDUs - Support contract must allow ALCF technical staff to perform maintenance - Technical merit is prioritized over price in evaluation (best-value award) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are mandated; however, NVIDIA is highlighted for the Bluefield-3 network adapters - Delivery/Performance Location: - Argonne National Laboratory, Building 240 Data Center, 9700 S. UChicago Argonne, LLC, operator of Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne or Laboratory) under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has the responsibility of obtaining compute hardware, software/licensing, installation, and maintenance and support services which are the subject of this Request for Proposal (RFP). You are invited to furnish a firm fixed price proposal to meet this requirement. Your attention is directed to the enclosed documents which constitute the requirements of this RFP and should be fully complied with as indicated.
