STATEMENT OF NEED GENERAL The purpose of this procurement is to furnish two (2) replacement domestic water booster pumps for Building 100 (Main Hospital) at Bay Pines VA Medical Center to restore system reliability and redundancy until a future follow-on project completes tie-in of previously installed replacement pumps in a new location.
BACKGROUND Building 100 is a five-level hospital and requires adequate domestic water pressure throughout the facility. The current system has three booster pumps, but only one is functional. If the remaining pump fails, the facility will lose adequate domestic water pressure to higher floors. The requested replacement pumps are intended to bridge this reliability gap.
PURPOSE This SON defines the requirements for the procurement of an Aurora pump assembly model 411 or equivalent. SCOPE The vendor shall provide and deliver two (2) complete domestic water booster pump assemblies matching the referenced equipment characteristics (or equal, if approved by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) prior to award), suitable for use as replacement pumps in the building 100 domestic water booster system. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Size: 3 x 4 x 14 Configuration: Horizontal split case, BF Performance: 362 GPM at 155 feet TDH Speed: 1750 RPM Coupling: Standard Base: Steel base with drip rim Motor: 40 HP, 1750 RPM, TEFC, 460/60/3 Quantity Two (2) pumps total
