The City of Ontario is seeking bids for its 2026 Fall Pavement Rehabilitation Project, covering major street segments in Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga. - Government Buyer: - City of Ontario Engineering Department - Project Scope: - Pavement rehabilitation on Riverside Drive, Grove Avenue, Fourth Street, Merrill Avenue, and South Euclid Avenue - Work includes: - Asphalt grinding and slot grinding - Placement of asphalt concrete leveling courses and asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) overlays - Construction of Portland cement concrete (PCC) sidewalks, curb and gutter, and 10-inch PCC pavement - Installation of ADA-compliant access ramps and detectable warning surfaces - Adjustment and replacement of manhole rings, covers, and water/gas valve covers (including Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) composite covers) - Installation of traffic signal detector loops, video detection systems (3-4 cameras per location), and APS pedestrian push buttons - Traffic striping, thermoplastic markings, signage, and raised markers per Caltrans and City standards - Installation and restoration of well monuments with documentation - Site clearing, grubbing, removals, earthwork, mobilization, and cleanup - BNSF permit acquisition and coordination as required - Notable Vendors and OEMs: - Econolite Control Products Inc (traffic signal and video detection equipment) - J AND S STRIPING (striping services) - Meyer Land Surveying (surveying) - Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) (manhole covers) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Strict compliance with Caltrans and City of Ontario construction and signage standards - Stormwater pollution prevention measures - Permit acquisition for BNSF railroad crossings - Prevailing wage, labor, and environmental compliance - Night and weekend work may be permitted with approval - Quantities (selected): - 12,900–26,860 sq yd asphalt grinding per segment - 1,435–2,985 tons ARHM overlay - 275–330 sq ft PCC sidewalk per segment - 3–6 ADA access ramps and APS push buttons per segment - 9–12 traffic signal detector loops per segment - 1 video detection system (3–4 cameras) per segment - Project Duration: - 80 calendar days, starting 10 days after Notice to Proceed - Estimated Contract Value: - $4,800,000

Description

The solicitation is for the 2026 Fall Pavement Rehabilitation Project in the City of Ontario, California. The work includes header and slot grinding of existing pavement, placement of asphalt base pavement, asphalt leveling course, ARHM overlay, PCC pavement and sidewalk, removal and replacement of PCC curb and gutter, curb ramps, installation of detectable warning surfaces, adjustment of water valves and manhole rings and covers, replacement and adjustment of IEUA manhole covers and rings, installation of traffic signal loops, and other necessary appurtenances.
