The Wilkes Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking design-build firms for Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) projects in Wilkes County, North Carolina. - Government Buyer: - Wilkes Soil & Water Conservation District (Wilkesboro, NC) - Project Scope: - Engineering, consulting, design, and construction services for two EWP sites - Site 4501-001: Mulberry Creek - 300 linear feet by 17 feet high streambank and shoreline protection - Approximately 1 acre of critical area planting - Site 4502-002: Yadkin River - 85 linear feet by 40 feet high streambank and shoreline protection - Approximately 1.1 acres of critical area planting - Full design-build responsibility: engineering surveys, design development, regulatory permitting, construction, quality assurance, and as-built documentation - Standards & Requirements: - Compliance with USDA NRCS Conservation Practice Standards 580 (Streambank and Shoreline Protection) and 342 (Critical Area Planting) - Adherence to OSHA safety regulations and cultural resource protection - Sealed engineering documents by a North Carolina Registered Professional Engineer - Mandatory pre-bid site meeting - Comprehensive insurance coverage - Evaluation Criteria: - Local knowledge, emergency responsiveness, technical experience with NRCS standards, regulatory proficiency, and cost/schedule control - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation - Notable: All phases from design through construction and as-built documentation are included in the contract
